Prior to his role at the FreeEnterprise Foundation, Mr. Kappler served as the Interim VP of Federal Relations and Director of state Government Relations for the University of North Carolina system. He has been named by the Washington Post among the best state-based political Tweeters and Capitol reporters. Mr. Kappler is a Fellow of the North Carolina Institute of Political Leadership, a member of Leadership North Carolina, and a part of the American Enterprise Institute's Leadership Network.
