The Asheboro Public Library will be hosting a Community Craft & Learn Event for all ages, led by mixed-media fiber artist and art educator Cassandra Liuzzo. Learn how to transform plastic bags into beautiful art and useful objects, incorporating single-use materials that would otherwise be thrown away. Inspired by the compassionate work done by the local resource center Keaton’s Place, participants will learn how to turn plastic bags into functioning bed rolls for donation. All ages and abilities are welcome, no registration required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own crochet hooks and scissors, as a limited number will be provided. Cassandra Liuzzo received a BS in Art Education from Appalachian State University and is the founder of Shelf Life Art & Supply Co., a new and used art supply store in Greensboro, NC. Her work has been shown in galleries such as Center for Visual Arts in Greensboro, Catherine Smith Gallery in Boone, and Brooklyn Fireproof in New York.
