Cereal Day for United Way
Post Consumer Brands is hosting its eighth annual “Cereal Day for United Way” in Asheboro, N.C., on Saturday, Sept. 30. The company will sell 10,000 bags and boxes of its Malt-O-Meal® and Post® branded cereals for just $1 each. All proceeds from the sale will go to benefit the United Way of Randolph County. The event, which is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last, will feature 10 varieties of Post®and Malt-O-Meal®brand ready-to-eatcereals in 14- to 21-ounce sizes, including Fruity Pebbles™, Great Grains® Blueberry Morning, Honeycomb®, Coco Roos®, Frosted Mini Spooners®, Honey Nut Scooters®, Marshmallow Mateys®, Oat Blenders® with Honey, Oat Blenders® with Honey and Almonds, and S’mores. New this year will be two flavors of 10-count instant oatmeal — Post Great Grains® Maple and Brown Sugar and OatFit® 100-calories Apples and Cinnamon. Post Consumer Brands employs approximately 230 people at its cereal manufacturing plant in Asheboro. In addition to benefiting the local United Way, the event serves as a thank-you to the community where its employees live and work. Including this year’s expected donation of $10,000, the local event will have raised $80,000 for the United Way of Randolph County in the past eight years.
